Do you have an older iPhone, like the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus? This past week Apple released the details of the iOS 12 update scheduled for this fall, and keeping older iPhone’s viable is part of the plan.
According to the press release as reported by Mac Rumors, in the upcoming iOS 12 update, Apple is focused heavily on performance, working from top to bottom to make iPhones faster and more responsive, including older iPhones.
If your iPhone 6 (or newer) is sluggish, check out this article from Apple about battery performance, which includes how to check the battery life on your iPhone and how to take advantage of the $29 battery replacement that was announced earlier this year.
A new iPhone 6 battery makes a big difference! One of our employees replaced the battery on her iPhone 6 Plus and it’s running like a brand new iPhone, and a client just reported that with a new $29 iPhone 6 Plus battery, “Dare I say it’s improved by possibly over 60%??”.
With a new battery and upcoming improvements to performance on older iPhones, as cost-conscious baby boomers, there will be less pressure to trade in a perfectly good iPhone every few years. I think this is great news…how about you?
