Dear Dave – Held Captive by Captcha!
  • dear dave

Its YOUR opportunity to ask a question, any tech related question and we will do our level best to give you our best advice.  If you want to submit a question, just send me an email to [email protected] and add “Dear Dave” to the subject line.

On to our question …

Dear Dave,

I’m trying to register for on line notices from a company. They use Captcha to establish that I’m not a robot, which last time I checked Im not!  The Captcha for the site I’m trying to use won’t work. That little circle keeps going round and round and nothing happens.

I did some Google checking and most of the stuff was a bit beyond what I need.

Any ideas?

Best,

Captive in Canton

Dear Captive,

It’s most likely a java or security conflict. I guess the good news is that your system has lots of security but in this case it’s being a little too aggressive.

I would try an another web browser as a simple workaround. If you are using Chrome then try Firefox or Microsoft Edge, or vice versa.

Let me know how it goes.

Dave
